A partnership was forged betweenUnicomp Technology (hereafter referred to Unicomp) and SEU, SEU Wuxi Campus with the aim for the establishment of a joint research institute on the X-ray intelligent detection techfor educational and scientific studies purposes.

The mission of the center is to be run around an emphasis on providing solutions for emerging materials, central components, intelligent algorithms and advanced equipment through sponsored research in the fields of micro focus X-ray and smart X-ray inspection, and giving postgraduates opportunities for learning and taking part in real research projects. The research unit will be staffed and directed by Unicomp professionals and SEU and SEU Wuxi Campus faculty or staff.
SEU Wuxi Campus will be responsible for the construction and developmental operation for it. And Prof. Wenhu Qin, who is now the vice president of SEU Wuxi Campus, is recommended as the director for the institute. The management committee will consist of members from SEU, SEU Wuxi Campus and Unicomp.
The unit needs to fulfill a couple of tasks raised by Unicomp, as stipulated in the agreement, which include collecting the research demands the company expects SEU to deal with, preparing updates about technological discoveries and newly developed products for Unicomp and promoting exchanges and giving 3-4 training sessions to the organization’s tech workers.

Also, the two parties reached consensus on three specific goals they aimed to realize for their partnered project in the years to come. They will complete developing labs of national, provincial and municipal levels, setting up graduate work stations where master candidates of the university are able to receive education and implement their academic studies under supervision of supportive full-time researchers the institute is going to bring in. And scientific projects will be collaboratively launched by the two cooperative parties in an effort to facilitate the development of the unit by leveraging their advantages.
Founded in 2002, Unicomp has progressed to be a specialist in the X-ray intelligent testing area in the country. The research achievements and productions of it have been widely applied by businesses of high-tech concentrations, such as electronics, semiconductors, lithium battery, non-destructive testing, public safety and aerospace. Unicomp runs its R&D center in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, conducts its manufacturing in its plants settled in Shenzhen and Chongqing, and promote its sales in offices of Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu, Ningbo, Xiamen and Urumqi. The stuff it fabricates even go to the markets in the United States, Mexico, Europe, the United Kingdom, Russia, Brazil, Ecuador, Australia, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
