The International Innovation Center for Micro & Nano Devices and Systems was officially launched at the Next Generation Electronic Materials & Devices Forum and the 3rd Low-Dimensional Materials Application & Standards Symposium, both held in Wuxi on December 6th, according to the report from Wuxi Daily.

The great platform, the supportive fund of which amounts to as much as 1 billion yuan, is a milestoneproject of collaboration formalized between SEU and the city of Wuxi on integrated circuits, MEMS sensors, flexible electronics, novel materials, characterization. Running on the back of SEU’s Microelectronics School principally and a think tank that is fueled by the intelligence of 8 academicians, this joint infrastructure emphasizes the importance of talent cultivation, research and development activities for companies, and will shoulder the responsibility of aligning academic studies with industrial needs.

Wuxi’s Party Chief Huang Qin, says in his highlighted speech, the government will reinforce the partnership with the university to establish an institution of excellence for education, development of exclusive technologies, and the transfer of innovation to the benefit of the local economy and society. The city, Huang stated, will promote research-driven solutions to address one of the most critical technological challenges for China in the integrated circuits sector and facilitate the IC agglomeration and influence of Wuxi in and out of the country.
The forum, the collaborative sponsorship of which is from SEU and the National Technical Committee on Nanotechnology of Standardization Administration of China, was open with many topics addressed around the technological applications of novel materials in next generation electronic & information devices.
