Jiang Hong, deputy dean of the ARCH School who works on the management of postgraduate programs, claimed the greatness they considered this opportunity and also sincerely gave his proposal about how to push their program with Wuxi Campus and ETH Zurich forward. The ARCH School also presented their advantages in their academic fields and showed their plan and demands for facilities at the meeting.

SEU Wuxi’s Executive Vice President Zhang Jiwen offered his opinions and advice about how to make this program real as soon. Zhang hoped an agreement will be signed by this December.

The meeting concluded with a consensus reached by the two sides to start building a joint lab of digital design and intelligent construction within the campus.

ETH Zurich is a public research university in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. Founded by the Swiss Federal Government in 1854 with the stated mission to educate engineers and scientists, the school focuses exclusively on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The CAAD Department (Computer Aided Architectural Design) represents the information-technology branch at the ETH's Department of Architecture. The CAAD Chair was newly vested with Ludger Hovestadt at the end of year 2000, which lead to a paradigm shift in its orientation. Since this time the aim is no longer to illustrate architecture within the computer (virtual reality), but to extract architecture again from the computer (back to reality) in order to build artifacts, which cannot be realised by conventional methods.

To attain these goals, the CAAD Department employs a uniquely large faculty of teachers and researchers, which is formed in an interdisciplinary manner and is - in its core - oriented towards a pragmatic conversion of information-technologies in architecture.

SEU is well known for its educational endeavors which are undertaken by the ARCH School in the architecture area. The architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture are the three major disciplines of the School. It has been one of the most essential scientific research bases and pioneers in the architectural education and research sector.
