An opening ceremony was held on September 5 at SEU Wuxi campus for newly enrolled postgraduates of the Unity College co-launched by Southeast University (SEU) and the world leading KU Leuven.

With his great welcome extended, SEU Wuxi Vice President Jin Baosheng made a keynote speech to express his expectations for the attending students. The core value the university held, as he highlighted in his speaking, is “Strive for Perfection”, and the mission it takes is to develop into a world prestigious science and engineering institute and a crucial role in training superior talents in response to national development. SEU, currently, has launched its “1-10-100”initiative to build itself into a globally renowned institution with world first-class disciplines, as an answer to the country’s call for an internationally influential country for its education, science and technologies.

Professor Jin concluded his speech by encouraging the students to contribute their active part in critical events and IC competitions.
Zhang Zaichen, managing director of Information Science and Engineering School, then, started his lecture with a brief about the school. Zhang emphasized, to drive the SEU-KUL program forward, the school prepared a set of elaborate solutions and selected exceptional staff. Wang Qiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuxi campus, delivers a speech. He says that the establishment of the SEU-KUL project is the first historic step for Wuxi campus to join hands with the world-class universities to co-develop the SEU International Campus in Wuxi. The event was staged on in the presence of Jin Baosheng, president of SEU, Wuxi, Jin Shi, managing associate dean of the Graduate School, Wang Qiang, the Communist Party Committee Secretary of Wuxi Branch, Zhang Jiwen, executive vice president of SEU, Wuxi and Li Jiuxian, the Party secretary of the Information Science and Engineering School.
